COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS) — Fred Hobson, 73, of Covington, died at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 16, 1970) in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient two days. Born April 15, 1897 in Tangier, he was the son of Daniel A. and Sarah Pavey Hobson. He married Gladys Hershberger on Dec. 3, 1942. Mr. Hobson had been employed as a butcher, served as a cook for several years in the navy and operated a pool room in Covington before his retirement about four years ago. Survivors include his widow; a son, Fred of Veedersburg Route 2; a daughter, Mrs. Diana Keller, of Covington; two brothers, Herschel Hobson in Louisiana and Earl Hobson in Texas; and a nephew. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. EST Friday at the Hegg Funeral Home with Harold Fogle, pastor of the Fifth Street Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted. Friends may call after noon Thursday at the funeral home.  --typed by Walt W
